Videogame audiences seem to be extremely eager for mech games. FromSoft's return to Armored Core was warmly received when Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon came out in 2023, Into the Breach and Titanfall 2 are two of the most respected entries to the roguelike and FPS genre respectively, and, more recently, Mecha Break blew up on Steam after putting out a demo. Anyone impressed by that sampling is in luck now, as the multiplayer mech project just had its quickly approaching launch date announced during tonight's opening Summer Games Fest presentation.
multiplayer game where players, taking on the role of a pilot living in a declining near future world, take part in dynamic sci-fi robot fights by customizing their own mech and testing it against human and computer controlled enemies.
There are a range of ways to play, spanning from a 3v3 deathmatch and 6v6 'hero shooter' mode to a 3v3 or 6v6 extraction shooter mode. Alongside the variety of mech classes to try out, the ability to play either cooperatively with a squad or competitively against other human opponents should make Mecha Break one of the more compelling mech games created to date.
