I don't think I'd survive the zombie apocalypse. The stress, pressure, and sheer unfathomable horror would quickly get to me. It doesn't matter about the types of undead either. They can be fast or slow, I just don't think I'd manage. Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days lets me put my theory to the test. With a focus on building shelters, collecting resources, and avoiding confrontation at all costs, there's a demo out for the zombie game right now.
Set in the American suburbia of Walton City, Texas, Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days is absent of all modern technology. We're transported to the year 1980, which means no smartphones, home internet, and none of the modern conveniences that might make surviving zombies in 2024 a lot easier.
Survival in this zombie game doesn't just mean hiding in a bunker, though. You need to venture out for supplies, establish a shelter, recruit civilians, and eventually find a way to escape to the rumored safe zone. Stealth is your friend here, as avoiding the undead and stockpiling resources are both vital to your success in the long run.

To top it all off, you need to make sure that the needs of your growing group of survivors are met. Food, medicine, and equipment are all in low supply, and the constantly moving zombie hordes can easily trap you.
Into The Dead's urban landscape is also constantly shifting, as buildings and their layouts gradually change over time. Every single playthrough provides a completely new experience, so you've always got to be on your guard.
You've got a lot of choices in this new Into The Dead demo. There are four survivors to pick from, each with their own traits and narratives. You can also choose where to scavenge your supplies, be that from a calm church or a neon-soaked arcade. From here, you need to pick which people you want at your shelter, before finally venturing out in the hope of finding an escape plan.
The Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days demo is available on Steam right now. The full game is scheduled for an early access launch in 2025. You can get involved here.
