Escape From Tarkov 1.0 and Steam release date estimate

We estimate when Escape From Tarkov will get its 1.0 release, and when it will hit the Steam storefront, as well as other EFT news.

When are the Escape From Tarkov 1.0 and Steam release dates? EFT is one of the most brutal – and beloved – extraction shooters, and it has managed to carve out a sizable corner for itself in what has been a competitive market. A dedicated client has potentially held the game back from a much wider audience, but that is about to change.

Escape From Tarkov 1.0 release date estimate

We estimate that the Escape From Tarkov 1.0 release to be in August 2025. The EFT developer suggested that there will be three updates before the 1.0 release, coming in May, June, and July. If the Escape From Tarkov 1.0 release is to follow suit, we think it will be in August.

The developer gave only a broad summer launch window for the 1.0 release, but does confirm that spin-off shooter Escape From Tarkov Arena will come to Steam before the release of the 1.0 edition of the base game.

In a livestream from Friday, April 18, Battlestate outlined the imminent future for Escape From Tarkov. Between now and the summer, three updates will be released for the extraction FPS, starting in May, when BSG will introduce balancing changes, visual optimizations, and a new event. In June, EFT's audio engine and AI will be improved, and in July, there will be overhauled gunshot sound effects and another new event.

Escape From Tarkov Steam release date estimate

We estimate that the Escape From Tarkov Steam release date to be in September 2025. The developer explained in an update that the Steam release would come after the 1.0 update, with the month after 1.0 being the most likely time.

In a new update, Battlestate explains that the EFT Steam edition is on the way, and that it will arrive after the shooter hits a more complete 1.0 version. Battlestate also says that the Steam version will be complete with the new PvE mode. All being well, it will push EFT into even more of the mainstream, and make it simpler for would-be players to give it a shot.
